To truly enjoy hiking or spending the night outside, one needs to be prepared. Learn what to take with you and what to leave behind. Understand the personal needs of a woman and the special needs of children when in the woods. We help you understand that you don't need to go without a shower or sleep on the ground with bugs and other critters. That there are many critters such as, snakes, bobcats, bear, bees, birds, and butterflies that live there. Simply remember, you are going into their home, so go with respect and try to abide by their rules. Most often their number 1 rule is, "If you leave me alone, I will leave you alone."

One of the most dangerous things that can occur when you are in the middle of nowhere (no buildings, phones, running tap water) is weather. We can help you to prepare and understand the dangers involved. What you should do as well as what you should not do. How to chose the proper equipment and what to leave behind.

Learn how to choose your hiking shoes, socks, daypack and more for a 1 day hike. What to consider when planning an over night stay on the trail. Understand how to fit a backpack and learn that one size does not fit all. Know how to choose a tent, even learn about food for the trail. One important thing we teach is what you can live without. We help you learn how to have fun, and relax in a quite and beautiful setting. Lastly learn and teach others the hikers/backpackers motto "PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT"
