Kids are our future, our next generation. The more we can educate them about firearms, the safer our children will be. The more we can do to educate them about the out of doors and our wildlife, the better chance we have of having wildlife in the future.

The Beginning:

About 1980, long before Venture Outdoors came to be, we began working with the kids at the Elks  Aidmore Children's Home in Conyers, Ga. Working with youth ages 7 - 17, that had low or no self esteem and many had no respect for themselves or others. We helped to create their backpacking/hiking program to introduced them to an environment where you had to depend on yourself as well as work together as a group/team. They also learned to respect the out of doors, Mother Nature and wildlife, while learning to respect themselves. We help watch these kids grow and change for the better.

Fishing:

Most kids love to fish and there is such joy in watching a child catch his/her first fish. It is exciting. Being a part of them learning how is even better.

We help you and your child to learn basic fishing with the cane pole, spinner, as well as understanding the art of the fly rod. In our classes they learn knots, casting, hooking and what to do after the catch.

Firearms:

In 1995, Jeannie received her first handgun certification. During that year, a father brought his 10-year-old daughter to her for instruction. Jeannie was nerves about working with a child, especially one so young. During the class, this little girl asked if she could tell her something her father had taught her. She said "Guns are fun, Toys are fun, But Guns are not Toys".

Sense that time, together we have taught many children. From firearms safety at Charley Elliott Wildlife Center where we still teach today, to summer camps,  Boy Scouts, birthday parties, as well as having taught many personal (parent/child) classes. The better educated our children are, the safer our children are in any environment.

Children are curious. The more they learn in a "hands on" class, the more they retain, which in turn increase their safety. Remember, just saying "NO" doesn't always work. Education and training does. We like to believe that "Knowledge is Power". Give you child the knowledge to be safe.

We believe in the saying from that first  10-year-old little girl. "Guns are fun, Toys are fun, But Guns are not toys." This is so true and we pass this thought on in all of our kid classes. Keep our next generation safe, through education.

Let us help you to:

TEACH THEM THE RIGHT WAY, THE FUN WAY, THE SAFE WAY.
